Nathan Ousey

Storyteller, writer, editor, and instructor

Hello! I'm Nate, a creative writer, editor, and teacher with an expert eye for style. I'm based in the Greater Philadelphia area, and I’m always looking for more opportunities to enter workspaces where storytelling thrives! I’m seeking editorial assistantship roles, authorial freelance work, and creative writing teaching positions in higher education to help me build an impassioned career.

Why should you consider my writing for your project? Well, I have made freelance contributions to numerous projects, such as the massive Kickstarter campaign, Gods of the Forbidden North: Volume 2: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/498119/gods-of-the-forbidden-north-volume-2.

In 2022, I received my Masters in English (Creative Writing) from Penn State, eager to kick-start my creative career journey. I gained practical editing experience for the Virtual Transformational Development (VTLD) Experience for Penn State’s Teaching and Learning with Technology. My teaching philosophy revolves around building the class as a community of diverse writers that are open to share and critique each other’s work.

I also write and tell stories for commercial use. As a Professional Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Drafts in Philadelphia, I run sessions of interactive roleplaying games for customers. I’m constantly interacting with the evolving nature of stories, which I hope to translate into the editorial and publishing sphere of commercialism!

My experience in creating published content has shaped me as a writer, editor, and teacher. Please see samples of both my creative and professional work below.
